*shrug*. It's just a static mythfrontend. I've got the rootfs if I need to reinstall.

Quick Hint, You need to edit /etc/make.conf and change the USE variable to exclude stuff like XFree, e.g. USE="-X". This will tell gentoo to NOT compile those optional extra GUI frontends that require XFree86. See http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/portage-manual.xml for more details. See /usr/p...

Kernel 2.4.26 Oops

All, I'm getting a 'Buffer write failed' Kernel Oops at random points, generally when compiling stuff. I've now seen the posting at http://gentoox.shallax.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=133 regarding this. I wanted to get the xir driver and lirc working together, which I think re...

OK, I've finally got a solution to this one. The problem was down to an incorrect MAC address being used by the forcedeth driver. The nvnet driver does not suffer from this issue, however I think it has been removed from 2.4.26 in preference to forcedeth, since I believe nvnet is non-GPL(?). I think...

OK, Pro really looks broken on my setup. To reiterate, I'm not using DCHP, I'm changing the details in /etc/conf.d/net to match my setup. SSH does indeed work 'locally' on Pro as I can SSH into the localhost, but the problem appears to be with certain networking protocols. ICMP & ARP work fine, ...

Yes, I checked /var/log/auth.log after a failed login attempt. I can see sshd starting and binding to 0.0.0.0 (all interfaces), but it just doesn't want to pick up on the incoming connection - the connection request doesn't get logged anywhere I can see. I added -d-d-d the sshd startup for verbose d...

OK, to encourage me, can someone confirm that SSH does indeed work out-of-the-box with the Pro Edition?

In the meantime, will try and snarf a USB KB from work...

Pro Edition ssh woes

Hey, I've d/l and installed the Pro 1.1 edition and am having problems ssh'ing into the box. The box seems to boot fine and go into init 2. I don't run dhcp, so the box defaults to 192.168.1.13. I tried to ssh to that address, but got 'network unreachable' as I run a 192.168.0.0 based net. OK, fine,...
