Worked for me. I had to copy back /etc/conf.d/net.uhoh.

Would it be possible to select which files to (or not to) restore?

I guess I need "gdesklets-core", and then it's hit or miss for each individual desklet.

I think I'll just play around with them and see which work...

I was browsing http://packages.gentoo.org and found some desklet packages I'd like to use. Some of them mentioned "gDesklet" in the description. I'm assuming that the "g" is for "Gnome"? But they were under the category x11-plugins. Will these still be compatable with G...

Is there a way to get KDM without KDE? I just tried "emerge -pu kdm" and "emerge -pu kdmrc", no packages found. I like KDM, but don't want the bload of KDE on my system. Or is there another desktop manager I should consider? I don't know if it was XDM or GDM, but whatever I was u...

I don't know about KDE (too bloated for the xbox, IMHO).

In XFCE4, right click on the desktop. "Settings" > "All Settings..." When the menu loads, click "User Interface" (second to bottom, right column).
