It seems I can't delete my old Gentoox files!!
I have a corrupt copy of Gentoox on my E: drive, so I decided to delete it and re-install, I used Xbox File Explorer, highlighted the files and folders I wanted to delete and deleted them, I then jumped onto my PC and FTP'ed in to inspect the E: drive....guess what....the files are still there!! I r...

Basically all I use it for is a method to get my kids onto the Net and OFF my main pc! Works a treat :) I'll most likely start using it for other things once I've learnt a little bit more about Linux, I've installed it on my PC now, so I'll test things on the PC 1st and then do the same on the Xbox....

sounds like you might have had a bad kernel update on the E drive there will be a file called vmlinuz and there should be one called oldlinuz. If you have both these files delete the vmlinuz then rename the oldlinuz to vmlinuz and gentoox should load. I did as u said but I didn't take note of the f...

You have already achieved this you said so, you can boot fine using the cromwell bios but you can't boot using evox, when you have a cromwell bios on your modchip, this has nothing to do with gentoox, gentoo or linux all of these things are working fine it has to do with you not being able to flash...

This has nothing to do with Gentoox, other than the fact that Gentoox can run off a bios (just like everything). Please take your post elsewhere. Your really helpful aren't you! I'm asking for help (as a Linux n00b) to setup my machine to run Linux smoothly without the need to boot into a completel...

this is a daft question, if you have got crommwell on your mod chip use cromwell for linux, makes sense. If you have o use your other bios you need the gentooxx.xbe file on your E drive. No, it's not a daft question. I don't have cromwell on the chip as I can't have Evox on there at the same time, ...

Evox and Linux bios on same chip?
Can anyone tell me how I can flash my X2lite with an Evox Bios in Bank 1 and a Linux bios in Bank 2?
I've tried this already but it doesn't seem to work, I can only boot into Linux in Bank 2, Bank 1 with Evox doesn't boot.

ps2/AT keyboards and USB keyboards are not interchangable. Most USB keyboards also support a ps2 connection but this is by design. If you want a usb keyboard you have to buy one or buy/build a convertor. I'd go with Shallax's £5 keyboard plan as for more fun would you rather spend your time playing...

I ran Magic....6 hours later......no Virtual Keyboard!
AAARGH!
I can't login to my system as I have no keyboard, it was ok previously as I didn't get this prompt.
My pc can still FTP to the Xbox and I can still SSH, but I can't use that virtual PC thingy, it doesn't seem to be running on the Xbox.
Can anyone help?
