Re: Install troubles
Thanks, My only want for the XBox is to use it to serve up the media files I have. I use several other Xbox's with media center programs on them to play so all I needed was a server to feed them the files from. Since the Xebian is working I got all the samba shares setup and files transferred to the...

Install troubles
Dont know why but I could never get the mount -o loop line working for the gentoox install. I know the system is setup correctly since I am now running the Xebian version and it installed with no trouble whatsoever. Boot with the live CD and run the install script. What could be easier. Is there any...

Re: Install using new larger HD on fresh XBOX?

Re: Cromwell bios will not load
Go figure, retied tonight with similar results.
Changed to the Dust directory and attempted to program the bios Loader.bin and it worked. I dont know why, but it did, all is well I get a very fast boot right into the linux bios. I am setting it all up now using the Native tut.
Thanks,
Brian

Re: Install using new larger HD on fresh XBOX?
Ok, I will try that tonight as long as I can get the bios figured out.
Thanks for the replies, I was wondering how active this project still is. Its good to have someone to bounce questions off of.

Re: Cromwell bios will not load
It was very strange to me as well. I ran raincoat with -r to dump my existing bio and it reported success. I ran raincoat with -p to program it back in and I got all three status's of Erasing with the little stars and Writing and verifying(?), no error messages at all, and everything still works aft...

Re: Install using new larger HD on fresh XBOX?
OK, I looked in the Q&A section and found the sticky about installing native. While this answers a few questions the instructions were for the Pro version(command line). Being a noob I dont think I can do without the graphical interface. Are there any well thought out and detailed instructions a...
