What's new with the Gentoox community?
Hey guys, The PHPBB script tells me that I haven't logged in since 2006. That's a long time. How's my favourite community doing? Gentoox is the whole reason I learned to use Linux. I ran Gentoo (talk about jumping in the deep end! but the documentation was unparalleled) on my home PC for ages, then ...

This'll never get old. Thanks Shallax. The only reason I even started using Linux was so I could get used to what I'd have to deal with on my xbox. Thanks to GentooX, I started using Gentoo, and suffered weeks of trauma. It was worth it though :D Magic just blows my mind (esp after learning to use G...

I like to think mine has the info all in one post -- http://forums.shallax.com/viewtopic.php?p=12597#12597 You do know that by hitting Ctrl+Alt+F1 (up to F6) you will sw...

X2VGA working? debatable.
Here's a nifty post that will hopefully help out those kind souls that read the forums before complaining :) Though it can perhaps be seen as a bug report as well. I've got an X2VGA. I don't know how old it is. I've got a V1.1 xbox. With any version of Gentoox/Gentoox Loader, if my dash (MXM) is run...

networking problem: DHCP and local aliases
Hey everyone! My first post in a while: I've been merrily using gentoox without too much hassle for almost two months now... but here's what I've just come across... I have a cable internet connection split on a hub to four computers. I need each to recieve its DHCP IP address from the ISP and also ...

It's entirely possible. I used a similar trick, however it was mechinstaller packaged with a bios loader... It took advantage of an exploit in the cd player... Not sure how legal it all is, and I have no intention to offend, so I'm not going to go into details.. But yeah, keep looking if you haven't...
That's the spirit! I still haven't managed to get both my printer and scanner working at the same time. Not that that fact should discourage you.. I'm just really broke, and can't afford more ink for my printer heh.. so it's still in the 'testing' stage... I almost had the image centered and then th...
You only joined the forum two days ago. Come on mate, don't give up. You're obviously not totally incompetent, there's just a lot to learn. It takes time. Spending a few hours searching google for answers to your questions is usually a good idea. You'll probably end up having to come here and ask an...

There hasn't been another Gentoox Loader release since the one that incorporated sparkle, has there? That's the one I've got. I am using a pc monitor currently, as well. I think right now I've told xbvset that I'm using an HDTV in 480p 720x480 (this old monitor can only handle up to 800x600 heh) and...

Similar thing happened to me a few months ago: I didn't have a working burner, or usb keyboard at the time so I FTP'd rootfs back to my main PC and fscked it... returned no errors. This probably isn't the sort of reply you're looking for but I wound up just reinstalling from scratch, then backing up...
