Is there any reason gdm needs to be started from local.start? If you specify "gdm" as the DISPLAYMANAGER in /etc/rc.conf then using /etc/init.d/xdm will start gdm. This is the way I have gdm configured in all my gentoo boxes, and I thought it would make sense to do it this same way for Gen...

I got this running also, I had to modify the initrd.gz also. But I runs just fine. I have all the files in e:/debian/ still.
I will post my initrd.gz if people are interested..
