I swear by Maxtors too, I've never had one fail. Fujitsu drives have given us hell at work, so I wouldn't touch them. I've just bought a 120GB Western Digital for my MythTV box. I hadn't heard about any problems with them, but regardless - for the sake of a few quid, I should have stayed with a Maxt...

I still can't get PHP to work on my box. I've got everything installed. Apache shows the default .htm page, but index.php just shows the file source. I've checked my conf files, followed three tuts on installing. And get nothing. apache2 status shows running, but webmin has the X and gives an error...

Attempting to backup native Home install over a network...
I'm trying to backup my native GentooX Home v4.0 "G drive" install over a network, using my Sun Ultra5 (running Solaris 9) with an external DDS-2 tape drive. After setting up ssh, I use the following command to back up "/var"... tar -czvf - /var | ssh root@sunserver "dd of=/...

I did the exact same thing with GentooX Home, and lost my F partition. That's why I did the installs on a fresh hard disk, so it didn't matter if I lost anything. I'd recommend anyone not to partition and format disks with valuable data on, without being either 100% confident in what you are doing, ...

Magic failure on Home v3.2
I have Home v3.2 installed natively in the "G Drive" area of my 160GB hard disk, and it seems to be running smoothly. However, when trying to run magic, I get the following... Gentoox Magic (c) ShALLaX (gentoox@shallax.com) Be sure to check http://gentoox.shallax.com regularly for updates!...
