Didn't get that. I just emerged gnome and although it took a while to do it's thing, it came out right. Just a small thing where xscreensaver didn't emerge and a mixer plugin likes to screw-up (but that basically fixed itself). Judging from this, I'd try to emerge libbonobo and restart the gnome eme...

Installation gone south...
So, a few days ago, my GentooX install was working perfectly. No problems (except for a few small bugs, i.e. the system would lockup on boot, and the sparadic kernel panic, all of these during boot-up, but nothing that a simple reboot wouldn't fix). Nonetheless, GentooX kept on chugging, working alm...

AA in Xine
So, I wanted to fiddle around with Xine (Perhaps the GREATEST MUTLIMEDIA PLAYER EVAR~!!!1!). It plays everything with nice speed, and this is great. Now, I wanted to use the Ascii Art driver with it. So I change the video driver to AA, Apply, and OK. Nothing happens. So I restart Xine. Still nothing...

On a side note, I had a problem whereas my Xbox wouldn't load the burned GentooX CD... at which point, I had to rip all the files off my CD, use an xIso creator, and burn that to a seperate 'boot disk', at which point I'd insert, and boot. Then I'd stick the original Stardust in when it requested it...

Empty bar in XFCE?
So I used XFCE from the GentooX 3.0c install. All is going well. Then it happens. My mouse decides not to work. I reboot, all is fine. Some time later, I'm forced to unplug my Xbox, at which point I turned off GentooX, and did so. I plug it back in, and I turn it on... and my XFCE bar at the bottom ...

Not sure if Xebian uses FatX, but if it doesn't, and you didn't format, there's your problem.Consolero wrote:I know that the installer doesn't work if there are no FatX partitions available.

Sounds like Xfree is gazook, which probably means you didn't run xbvset after magic. SSH in and run it.

I have my one4all set to control the Dongle so it's the same control I use for my TV/Video/Hifi/DVD/(insert name of ammusing eletrical device here to complete joke) Do you remember what the device name was for it? I'd actually try it, but I don't have the patience for looking through all the codes ...

Fuz: That explanation sucked. ;) Quoted from http://www.xfree86.org/#whatis What is XFree86? USB hubs
I finally got around to getting a USB to Xbox adapter. I only bought one, believing that I could hook up a USB hub to it, and when I'm not using the xbox, use that USB hub elsewhere. Now, is this possible, to use a USB hub on the xbox, and if so, should it be self powered?
