sure it works like a charm. i personally prefer rtorrent => it has menus, a very customizable bahaviour and uses only very few resources. if you don't have the tools (i.e. hot air soldering station) then i recommend using hot air gun on the other side of the board till the chips fall off. this is a very critical process since the memory ic's are very likely to overheat and break down. forget removing the ic's with desolder wire => it ...

@orochi: thanks you're my hero of the day!
screen is a really mighty tool, just the tool i needed.
rtorrent now runs succesfully even if i exit ssh connection.

(sorry zlasher haven't tried the nohup option => will remember that command for other programs :-))
