same problem here....thought I'd dig up an old post that instead of starting new.....

problem solved.

i'emerge vnc' fixed it.

i guess there was a problem with whatever vnc was installed. emerger fixed it. should have tried that first.

Im trying to connect to my home computer with Gentoox while im in a hotel.. MY home computer is running the lastest RealVNC 4.whaever, with the use version 3 protocal box checked, so that my pdaphone can connect to it. So in GentooX, i open the terminal, type vncviewer, and a little box pops up tath...

a suggestion....

i had a random problem similiar to yours. it turned out that if I had my DVD remote dongle plugged into the xbox then GentooX wouldnt load off of anything. Apparently its a bug that appears randomly on some xboxes for no easy to find reason.

Hard drive light problem is still there, Just stays on solid.

Ive just noticed that my hard drive light never turns off while running GentooX. During games/xbmc/bios it functions normally(pnly on when being used). I have USB drivers for windows, that allow me to hook up my PPC-6600 pdaphone up to my computer and use it as a modem. I cant seem to find any drivers for linux however. Apparently it has something to do with wmodem, the mode the phone goes into as a modem. Is there some way to port windows drivers ...

you can get a number keypad for any computer. The are usually PS/2, but you can either find one that is USB or get a PS/2 to USB adapter.

well everything is sync'd and magic'd up.

the systemtray package is listed as a masked package. i couldnt read what it said to do about it (as i said tv is crap).

i added and removed Eyes from the menu bar, worked fine. volume control still crashes the bar.

yes, it does have an add feature. I tried adding 'Systemtray' and it said could not add. I tried adding a volume control and the menu disappeared. Rebooted, tried the volume again and menu disappeared again. I ran magic and told it to sync, which its doing now. As long as that goes ok, I'll emerge s...

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:

that last line is a little fuzzy on the screen. The hotels tv's are poo-poo.

yeah, i installed xfce through magic, but have no bars. is there an option somewhere that turns them on or off maybe?

i did a search and coudnt find my answer....

I installed Pro 2.0a, but dont have the cpu/mem bars. What do i need to download to gt them on my toolbar?

getting this error on booting.

I downloaded Pro 2.0a, magic'd it all up. Synced. Everything went fine after a couple tries.

any ideas what to do to fix this?
