well, i can answer one question, your xbox games should run fine without a dvd-rom. I have had to do that a few times.

Jumpdrive: How to mount?
how would i go about mounting and unmounting a usb device such as a lexar jumpdrive secure? This may have been said before; if so, please tell me so.
