I also do not have an XF86Config file (only the example). I do however have a xorg.conf file which has a Sectio "Monitor" and the 480p mode that can be set to match the fbset parameters. I commented out the old section in case I broke something but here are the changes made to xorg.conf # ...

I ran magic again today and it updated itself. Now magic available works but magic f-drive still does nothing

i just installed a 120GB drive and tranfered my existing gentoox install from the previous drive to the new drive (still on e).
