wtf I don't get any of those x2vga options in xbvset.
480p 1024x768 and yes i have run magic blah
seems too work in 640x480. and I don't have a focus this is a v1.1

I noticed this also.

the thing with me was i was auto logged in as gentoox user.

then after magic and rebooted I logged in as root.

That is why this weren't working as per usual.

X was configured for the gentoox user not the root user.

try logging on as gentoox and that should fix your issue.

no 3d acceleration yet.

do you get any console before X boots?

If so try commenting out

the xbvinit line in

/etc/conf.d/local.start

i would comment out the
xbvinit line in
/etc/conf.d/local.start

to see if that helps.

As i understand it there is a huge stink between xbox-linux dev team and shallax. They basically are not giving shallax the privalages he needs to make gentoox compatable with mechinstaller. Correct me if I missed something.

why use xbe loader.. when you said gentooxx.xbe works.

xbe boot didn't come with gentoox so why post here

i hope you mean running magic when you say synching as this is a kernel upgrade patch and needs to recompile the kernel.

unless you have an x2vga good luck. the others vga adapters line double and such to get those resolutions. x2vga utilizes the hdtv signals from the xbox to deliver decent vga.
