1. No you won't ever NEED a command to use it as a media center. It runs fine on it's own from install. All graphical. Commands are only necessary for more advanced tweaking which you may never feel the need for. 2. Yes but it's not really openly discussed and it's a little tricky I can help with it...

MCE 1.2 on a 1.6 Problem
Installed MCE 1.2 on a 1.6 box thankfull that it should finally work. I did a straight install nothing custom. The install went beautifully, not a hitch. Then I played a DVD to make sure all seemed in order and it worked great. Then I tried ripping the DVD at perfect DVD quality to check that it cou...

Here's the deal there are a few of us out there who have been hard at work trying to figure out how to install MCE with a custom partition setup. ...

Good luck and just as I thought my problem is unrelated despite the surface similarities other X3 users have experienced the same problem but only a few of us. Three to be specific I think but xecuter is deaf to our cries for the time being well once again good luck to you and I'm back to waiting fo...

hey chinny can you get you're custom sized partitions to remain stable without the install. The problem I have with custome partition sizes goes like this tell me if your's matches this model. I can open XBPartitioner and set my custom partition sizes then format them to that size then go back to my...

The one tome this didn't happen to me was when I went with the default 137Gb f: the all went well I thought it was a flaw in my bios because it woul;d just rewrite my partition tabe to one of the two defaults whichever I had my bios set to on boot. but when my bios was set to 137Gb F. and rest G: an...

Just one clarification I realize I mentioned this earlier but it wasn't very clear and I felt it was irresponsible to not make it VERY clear. I said I got a clean install with no loss of data but this was only after several failed attempts with FULL loss of ALL of my data. it's VERY easy to make a m...

I agree that backing up is a good precaution but it isn't necessary if all is done correctly I managed to get a clean G install without hosing my f partition but it took me a while and I can't gauruntee it would end in success. I didn't even attempt it till I had a second 250 Gb HD to do all my baci...
well further complications have hit me. First off I have an X3 which is great b/c it'll set up you're drive and partition it for you all from the bios config. But not so great because they rewrite you're partition table to whatever the bios is set to on boot, and they only have a few options. I didn...
