One step further away from urination...
That appears to be a negative. I also tried the "modprobe usbmouse" on Gentoox this time and it says it can't locate the module. I see a file in my /dev folder called usbmouse, is that not it? Results of "dmesg | grep -i usb" : p50 p51 p52 p53 p54 p55<6>usb.c: registered new driv...

About to pee on the box USB mouse has never worked
Both Gentoox and the Xebian live CD don't see my wired usb mouse. The mouse's led is on so it IS recieving power, but rebooting, hot plugging, and installing Gentoox with the mouse plugged in does not find it. I have also tried: modprobe usbmouse with the Xebian live and the command completes but no...

Magic and Emerge pregunta
I understand that running magic/emerge results in updating the system, but what are their individual roles?

Okay...
Now I'm straight. I had been using DC++ up until yesterday. It's good but you still HAVE to go to the usual places in order to get what you need for VGA support. Once you look at the files available, almost everything makes sense. All the questions I asked during this whole project (except for linux...

A wink's as good as a nod to a blind bat...
I have read about this stuff but I have confused myself so here goes: My goal is VGA support. The problem is every Cromwell bin I flash to my mod chip only causes the box to reboot upon launch. Questions: Does VGA work WITHOUT linux? (Dashboards) Which bin file do I need, and from what specific fold...

ARGH!! Nevermind...
Problem solved, this is a limitation of the FATX file system... "Adjusts folder and filenames so they fit the rules for the XBox FAT-X filesystem (42 characters max with most accented characters missing)" from: http://www.coolstf.com/XBMPSync/ ARGH! So, still, do you know of a good renamer...

I don't know the answer to that, I am assuming no. But it is valid for Win2k on Fat32 or NTFS. As it turns out, this also happens in the dashboard via FTP, making it a file naming problem period, not a Linux problem. A sample problem name is... Donkey Kong Country 2 (Diddy's Kong Quest).smc ...and i...

vfat is doing me wrong... (maybe I'm doing IT wrong...)
I am trying to transfer files by mounting a vfat (fat32) disk as hdb1. It mounts fine and I can copy files, but some of the files refuse to copy. They won't copy by using a PC either with \\xbox and copy and paste, I get "invalid file handle". I have tried "relaxed" vs. "str...
