Correct - What is happening is that you have your default in kernel partition scheme, either .06 or .67 (F takes all, or G takes past 137). Then you create an on disk partition at sector 0 (if you'd like to take a look, emerge hexedit and hexedit your hda device - you'll see directory entries). Gent...

I don't know if I posted this in another thread, but I'm working on the source for xbpartitioner and evtool. The same patches can then be applied to whatever bios you use - depending upon whether you use evtool or xbtool for your bios hacking needs. Personally, I'm going to be hacking on the evox m8...

The problem is that both xbpartitioner and fdisk write to the same area of the hard drive. The easiest way to solve the bug would be to grab the source for xbpartitioner and evtool/xbtool and change the sector that the bios checks for xbox parition table. Really not too hard, just a hassle. However,...

I'm softmodded (via ldots tools). Basically I write the parition table and reboot (important that the xbox actually turns off and then back on). I've been running my F Drive as 270 gigs for a long time with no problem. I've alternated with having a 15gb G and having 15gb unallocated. I'm going to ex...

if your drive is around 160 that would be good - the kernel partition tables are never overwritten, but my drive is 300gb - and I don't want a 120gb+ linux drive :) I'm going to experiment with different things until I get it working (if it's even possible), but you should be okay if you don't mind ...

If you are on a windows xp machine you can just fire up the included calculator (under accessories). Change the calculator to Scientific mode. Select the HEX option. Punch in the hex code. Select DEC and it will convert it for you automatically. After that you can add 2 to the readout if you want to...

If you have a 300g drive, c e x y z = 10, f = 275, g = 15. When you perform the install your g drive will be destroyed and your xbox will think f = 290 now (you will get data corruption if you write past 275 since you are sharing that last 15g with your linux distro). The best thing is if you have n...

No, you do not want a G partition. 1) Backup your F drive 2) Setup your bios so that F takes the rest of the Drive 3) Use xbparitioner to make your F Drive 15g smaller - format your F or you will not have access to all of the space. Also note: changing the partition size will make your fat table mov...

Your fatx header probably got zero'd out. You'll have to hex edit your hard drive to get your f drive back. (1) Emerge a hexeditor (2) dd if=/dev/hda50 of=/headerdata bs=512 count=1 (3) hexedit /headerdata (4) change the volume id (it should be the second 4 bits) to something else, I changed mine fr...

I had tons of trouble repairing my partition table after installing MCE. Make sure you are installing to unpartitioned space. If you install to space also occupied by your f drive (say the end of your partition) you will get data corruption eventually. If you install to space that you partitioned to...
FIXED IT You must define you partition table (through xbparitioner) to exactly the same way it was before you installed MCE. Now, the problem I had was b/c of the fact that I formatted my F partition with 32k clusters to prevent data corruption. There is no way to define that through xbpartitioner, ...
