It looks like magic was created mostly because Shallax couldnt contribute xbox stuff to portage. My guess is that it would not have been the way to go for him had he been allowed to use portage to add xbox-specific stuff. I blame the gentoo team for that. I've responded in part, in the gentoo forum...

Indeed ShaLLaX has done some great work .. and its not good that he's dumped while doing his exams, but my feelings are that using magic may be easier for some, its damn frustrating for me. Not wanting openmosix and installing my own kernel is possible, but then running magic means all your individu...

.::Kernel 2.6.x installs, builds, but won't boot::. SOLVED

Anyone got 2.6.x to boot?

I've recreated the initrd but still no joy ... so could do with some ideas ;)

scooby

ps Using todays cvs for 2.6 kernel at xbox-linux & gentoox pro.

edit: New cromwell version did the trick! oh, and removed the initrd ;)

You're actually all wrong. I develop on a laptop running Gentoo. I had just received the laptop the day I took the photo and it came preloaded with Windows 2000, I was also in two minds as to whether I should just return it since it was defective. Its not a new laptop (of course I cant afford such ...

Does this only matter for the home edition of gentoox? as my pro versions are no way near the maximum available.

Just been reading, Xebian has been changed to a ext3 filesystem in the latest versions. How is this a problem to gentoo and not debian?
