well... i'm not sure what the hell happened... i booted linux, and usually, when it's loading, i get all those little [ok] boxes on the far right side, now, i don't, they all fail my Gentoo login doesn't load up anymore and i get a blue screen with an error in a grey box that says something along th...

ANOTHER UPDATE: did a bit of digging and found this thread http://forums.shallax.com/viewtopic.php?t=960&highlight=missing+tool+bar seemed simple enough typed it in, it runs magic, u hit enter and it reloads magic with the option of getting xfce4, so i said yes i let it run and finish it reboote...

UPDATE:

found out that the keyboard issue i had worked by following a FAQ
now, gentoox loads beatifully with my keyboard plugged in
but still no little task bar at the bottom...
there must be an SSH command to get it back..?
i'd run sparkle but i really don't want to flash my bios again..

i use unleashX to boot linux
i find, if u let unleashX find ur IP, then boot linux, it usually works

my menu has also disappeared mine disappeared after i plugged in a USB keyboard for the first time first Gentoox wouldn't boot past the screen that gives u the option to boot from HDD or DVD-D... my controller just kept vibrating so, i shut it down and rebooted when i booted back up, gentoox loaded ...

this may sound like a stupid answer, but i don't know how to set up and ftp server with my pc

i did a "emerge gftp" and everything worked fine but i can't seem to connect to my PC it keeps refusing the connection... i think this must have to do with my PC's configuration, any ideas on what exactly? i can use FlashFXP fine and get into gentoox so that's y i think it has to do with m...

and if so, i assume it's located in /usr/bin/

turns out i just had to run magic

i got the same thing i think
i cleans out my old kernel, then goes to update it with the new
then i get an error
tells me to check my network settings ?

hi i know about typing su in the terminal then i enter my password and the prefix or whatever changes to root whatever, so i assume it's correct my problem is that even after doing that i don't have root access in the File Manager or Explore... the little icon on the task bar says i need roots acces...
