Here is a simplified acount of my problem: 1. How do I mount a partition in GentooX (FTP Install) created using "newfs" on an earlier GentooX Install (FTP Install). 2. The only difference is that the earlier GentooX install had created the new 4gb partitions (newfs), and the current Gentoo...

I tried "mount"......but it has not mounted those extra partitions I created. Then I went to edit "fstab" and put a line like this: # /etc/fstab: static file system information. # # <file system> <mount point> <type> <options> <dump> <pass> /dev/loop/0 / reiserfs defaults,errors=...

In my case, I have no problems with FTP within the lan network. Whenever I try to ftp from outside (internet) it says directory listing, but never establishes a successful session. I can FTP from outside using XBMC. Again, I kept everything the same, but forwarded the FTP port to gentoox box, and it...

Of the 100 portages that was unmerged, it said it needed to emerge some to make it stable, and Accept keywords had to be specified, but I did not know which ones needed acceptkeywords.

Anyways, I will leave the present system running for sometime.....I will try tweking it sometime nextweek.

I tried the "emerge depclean -pv" first. It showed around 100 out of 400 packages to be unmerged and did not show any problems. The next thing I ran "emerge depclean".....it did its work. Then I tried "revdep-rebuild -pv"...it showed some links missing. Then I ran "...

I am not sure what 'kopete" is. But most of the executable/ or launcher seem to be in the "/usr/bin/' folder.

I installed apache several times, but that never happened to me. The only time I get errors were when I interrupt it when it is doing its thing (installing, file copying etc). I did it several times because I am new to Linux and all the thing it does. So I always end up doing something wrong in the ...
