How to do?

I'm afraid I don't know enough about gentoox (and linux in general) boot process. Where is defined which device is to be mounted as root-fs? Does all of this happen inside initrd.gz ?

LVM support for rootfs

This would enable us to dynamically add and remove drive-space to the root-fs. Default could be one physical volume (/dev/loop0). But one could easily create another loopback device (up to fatx-limit of 4GB) and add it to the logical-rootfs-volume. LVM isn't supposed to be very resource-hungry. What...

shutdown via Xpad-Button-Combination

Hello,

It would be great to shutdown the XBox via Xpad-Button-Combination. So I'm able to reboot without any TV or ssh-connection.

Native + Drive F support?

Hello *, is it possible to have a native install and still having a Drive F: (like 20GB for Gentoox and the rest for drive F:?). That would be great! Am I right, when I think native will be a lot more performant (espacially native swap). Another one: I'm not a gcc-tuning expert, but are all compilin...

So where is the right gentooxx.xbe?

Which rar? Which path in rar?
Can I exchange them without any risk of destroying my linux?

What exactly is Cromwell? I thought it was some kind of Bios use on modchips or in Phoenix Bios Loader.....
I use Phoenix with Xecuter2 and Evox to start Gentoox.

USB sometimes doesn't work

Hello *, I use an unmodded XBox V1.0 and installed Gentoox Home 2.1. When I boot Gentoox the Xpad only works every 2nd or 3rd time I boot. Everytime the Xpad work, my USB-Mouse works too, but when my Xpad won't work the mouse won't too either. What do I wrong, what additional data do you need? I'm a...

There are some tutorials describing how to use Bios_Loader as savegame for 007/MA. These include opening the XBox getting the HD and booting the PC with XLinux. Isn't there a way, that I can copy the savegame via ftp to my Rescue-Linuxed-Xbox? But where should which files be located? Where can I fin...

Gentoox on umodded XBox via MechInstaller?

Hello *, I've got an umodded XBox and ran MechInstaller. So I now have an XBox capable of booting a rescue-Linux. I wonder if I could install Gentoox now? But booting the Stardust-CD won't work. Do I have to flash my bios? Or should I use the ernie&bert-trick? However I want to keep my XBox unmo...
